Our Story

Our story starts rather similarly to Rachel's parents', by ignoring the age-old adage to not date co-workers. After months of sharing an office at UGM, driving home from work together, hiking and climbing together, eating out with friends together, exploring Vancouver's best bakeries together; all while 'talking' about dating, we realized maybe this was worth exploring. Or perhaps more accurately, Rachel realized what Lem had known all along.

The past three years have been full of adventure. From hiking and climbing to exploring new restaurants and cooking together (even if Rachel can only handle ‘baby spice’) we have created lasting memories all while growing as individuals and as a couple. We have laughed and cried, and then laughed some more. We have grown in our faith. We have traveled multiple continents, taken new courses and gone back to school, seen friends get married, met each others’ families, and so much more. We’re so excited to see what adventures our future together holds and look forward to celebrating our marriage with all our loved ones.

Oh and thank you to everyone who figured out months (maybe years) before Rachel that Lem was perfect for her and talked her through all her anxious moments.

Because a photo is worth a thousand words...

What to Expect on the Day-of

Onesie? Tuxedo? Kilt? You are invited to wear whatever makes you feel most like your most beautiful self,

If you would like a bit more specific direction: spring garden party attire will be appropriate. Please also be prepared to be outside and on grass, as we will be required to leave the church in between the ceremony and reception.

2:00 Ceremony (Redemption Church, 3512 W 7th Ave W, Vancouver)

3:00 Snacks and Games (Outside)

Due to the small size of the venue, everyone will need to leave the church in between the ceremony and reception. Snacks will be served in the backyard and yard games will be available in the nearby McBride Park. There are also innumerable coffee shops just a short walk from the church, on Broadway or 4th Ave. This would also be a great time to drive down and explore Jericho Beach.

5:30 Dinner (Redemption Church)

7:30 Dancing

11:00 Goodnight!
